CCHS OB-GYNs have the opportunity to provide quality, distinctively Christian care, addressing medical and spiritual healthcare needs for underserved women in Memphis.  CCHS provides a full scope of Women’s Health services, including outpatient prenatal and gynecologic care, inpatient obstetrics, and gynecologic surgeries. Our OB-GYNs see ambulatory patients at our newly renovated Women’s Health Center at Broad. In addition to providing primary care for female patients, the OB-GYN will supervise mid-level providers at the Women’s Health Center and serve as OB-GYN consultant.  Our obstetrics inpatient service at Baptist Women’s Hospital is staffed by our call team of OB-GYNs and Family Medicine obstetricians (FM-OBs). OB-GYNs also have operating privileges, including robotic surgery privileges at two large Memphis hospitals.


Education: minimum medical degree (MD or DO)

Experience: minimum completed residency in OB/GYN (ACGME accredited)

Licenses/certifications: board-certified, or board-eligible, in Obstetrics and Gynecology; maintain BLS and ACLS


  • Conduct medical assessment  and establish management plan for women’s health conditions
  • Monitor and treat patients during pregnancy and childbirth, including delivery and postnatal care
  • Provide gynecologic primary and consultative care, including appropriate GYN surgical interventions
  • Collaborate with nurse practitioners or physician assistants, as appropriate, in providing patient care; may assist in the education training of medical students and residents.
  • Participate in continuing medical education, including Life Support Training, to maintain the skills necessary to perform physician duties and as required by applicable medical boards and the State.
  • Document all patient encounters in a timely manner. Electronic health records used are eClinicalWorks for clinic and Epic for labor and delivery.
  • Participate in organizational mission to provide distinctively Christian healthcare

  • Attends staff and medical provider meetings and maintains a level of involvement with the health center committees, as needed, to ensure quality patient care

  • Communicate across departments including behavioral and spiritual health

Technical Requirements

Expected patient care hours include--

  • Outpatient clinic: average 3-4 half-day shifts per week (4hrs/shift)
  • Inpatient Labor call: average 24 hours per week
  • Operating: average 0.5 to 1 day per week in OR
  • Provide back-up labor call to FM-OBs

Additional call is compensated
