Maui Dwulat

Thirty years ago, Maui Dwulat, a youth pastor in Poland, and his wife Ewa had the vision to begin an evangelical Christian ministry that would reach across denominational and political barriers to reach young people and their families with the Gospel. Proem Ministries was founded in post-communist Poland in 1990, soon after Solidarity helped facilitate the first free democratic elections in Poland. After Maui and Ewa came to America to continue Maui’s Bible education, they returned to Poland to begin Proem Ministries in cooperation with Polish and American Christian churches. Proem has grown from serving 150 kids at the first camp in 1990 to 3,500 kids annually from Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, Israel, and Ireland.

Proem began by organizing summer camps for children and teens, which offered sports, crafts, outdoor adventure, and an everyday focus on the Bible and worship. The ministry has expanded from sports, creative arts, and language camps to innovative leaders in Christian education, church planting, community outreach, and counseling. Most recently, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Proem provides relief and trauma counseling to war refugees.
